Secondary Geography

The 2025’s Geography Teacher Educators (GTE) Conference is just around the corner with our NASBTT Secondary Geography Consultant, Kit Marie Rackley facilitating a session! Last year, the conference received high ratings, with many attendees expressing their intention to return next year and recommending the event to others.

The Conference will be held on 24th to 26th January 2025 at St Mary’s University, Twickenham.

Last year a special Coffee & Geography podcast episode was recorded on-location. It’s a great listen and gives you a sense of the GTE Conference if you have never been before.

The conference is truly global. Last year they had delegates from Spain and Brazil, and this year will be no different as the Headline Sessions prove:

  • Geo4tea: What kind of geography teacher are you? Petr Knecht and Michaela Spurná, Masaryk University, Czech Republic.
  • Alice in AI-Geoland: Unravelling the potential of AI in geography education. Luc Zwartjes, Ghent University, Belgium.
  • Making the geography MATter: training to teach within a Multi-Academy Trust. Kate Stockings, Future Academies, UK.
  • Climate Ambassadors: Empowering Teacher Educators to Lead on Sustainability. Kit Marie Rackley, Climate Ambassadors East of England Regional Hub Manager, NASBTT Consultant, UK.
  • Mentoring for Geography Teacher Educators – TBC
  • International Teacher Education: Collaboration and AI Competences. Rafael De Miguel Gonzalez, EUROGEO president, Zaragoza University, Spain.
