Transition to Teach is a bespoke teacher training support programme developed exclusively for career changers, offering support and guidance to career changers who wish to use their skills, knowledge and life experience in a classroom environment.
The programme is a free wraparound complementary service that is delivered in partnership with teacher training providers over two years, during which trainees receive Qualified Teacher Status and complete their first year as an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
Transition to Teach participants receive practical and personalised advice from a dedicated Guidance and Development Adviser, career development planning, networking opportunities, support to find and apply for a newly qualified teacher position, and extra support and guidance as required on any aspect of initial teacher training.
We might be able to support your career changer trainees if:
- They’re training to teach chemistry, computing, maths, MFL or physics.
- They have five years’ career experience, including a minimum of one year of management / leadership experience.
