Director, Critical Publishing
Julia Morris has been involved in educational publishing at a range of levels for over 30 years, including working at Hobsons, Hodder Education and Learning Matters. Together with Di Page, she set up Critical Publishing in 2012. Since then the business has gone from strength to strength, including winning the IPG Nick Robinson Newcomer Award in 2014. Critical produces print and digital learning resources for a range of subject areas with an approach that fosters critical thinking. We have now published over 170 titles and have exciting plans for the future. Critical is committed to publishing in vocational areas to support the key professions which hold our society together. Education, social work, the NHS, policing – these are all high-stress professions subject to political whims and frequent changes in policy and legislation, thus requiring up to date and informed publications. Our titles support people throughout their career journey from trainee / undergraduate through to leadership positions. Many of our publications also have a particular focus on supporting mental health.
