Oliver was a special school head teacher for a decade. While a teacher, he learned to combine the skills he learned from educational psychologists with the graphic know-how taught to him in childhood from his architect father. This unique combination resulted in Oliver becoming an information designer, visualizing educational ideas and processes. With this fusion, Oliver kickstarted the current transformation in teachers’ use of visual explanations with his book Dual Coding With Teachers. He has also created a step change in how educational books are designed and illustrated, bringing to life the ideas of many eminent education authors. Among them, he has collaborated with Tom Sherrington on several projects, the latest of which is the Teaching WalkThrus book and CPD package.
