Dr Sam Sims
Lecturer at the Centre for Education Policy and Equalising Opportunity, UCL Institute of Education

Sam Sims is a Lecturer in the Centre for Education Policy and Equalising Opportunities (CEPEO) at UCL Institute of Education. He is also a Research Associate at FFT Education Datalab. Sam‘s PhD (completed in 2018) focused on the recruitment and retention of teachers. Since then, he has worked on projects on grammar schools, teacher retention and teacher professional development. Along with Rebecca Allen, he is the co-author of a The Teacher Gap – a book about the teaching profession in England. Sam also has an interest in evaluation methods and is working on papers related to erroneous findings in randomised controlled trials and within-study comparisons.
