Membership of CLEAPSS gives access to advice and guidance on how to carry out practical activities in science, D&T and art successfully and safely. CLEAPSS guidance is recognised as best practice by the Health and Safety Executive and the Department for Education and approximately 25,000 schools and colleges are members. Membership is predominantly in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, although CLEAPSS has over 300 overseas members across 69 countries.
CLEAPSS resources give teachers ideas for exciting and engaging practical activities that fire pupils’ imaginations and then, unlike many other sources of ideas, go on to show teachers (and technicians) in detail how to translate these ideas into safe and exciting classroom experiences.
CLEAPSS provides information through its publications, courses and videos, and by email and telephone via its Helpline.
All of the published material can be found on the CLEAPSS websites; most require a member login but some resources are free to all.
