Senior Lecturer, Course Leader Modern Languages (PGCE Secondary)
Lisa Panford is a former Lead Practitioner with over 14 years’ experience teaching languages in secondary schools. During her time in school she worked as a Professional Coordinating Mentor, trainee subject mentor and coach to teachers at all stages of their career. Lisa is an Association for Language Learning (ALL) Council member and founding co-chair of the ALL Decolonise Secondary MFL Special Interest Group. She is a member of the Institute of Modern Languages Research Council (IMLR) (School of Advanced Study, University of London). Lisa is also a member of the Chartered College of Teaching. Lisa is passionate about the transformative potential of languages education for all young people and mobilising pedagogical advancements needed in our subject. She is committed to supporting trainee teachers in their initial training and beyond to revisit and analyse issues related to race, culture and ethnicity for positive impact on our young people in schools.
