John Thornby (admissions tutor for PGCE Secondary courses at Warwick) is currently conducting research with ITE trainees related to teacher recruitment and is seeking participants for his survey. He is looking for trainees from across England, representing all postgraduate routes into teaching. This research aims to better understand what kinds of people apply to teach and how this may vary between different subjects and training pathways. It is hoped that this information will lead to better differentiation and targeted support for trainee teachers as well as helping to refine recruitment practices and inform national policy on teacher supply.
The research is predominantly survey-based and takes around 15 minutes. John requests that you kindly promote the survey with your trainees and distribute the link: https://bit.ly/ITE_Survey_2020.
