Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing for secondary school and college students in the first week of the spring term

Yesterday, we provided a link to a collection of resources on asymptomatic testing, that have been developed by NHS Test and Trace and can be adapted to include your school or college details. These resources include a letter template to send to parents, pupils and staff, a consent form template and a leaflet on how to do a coronavirus (COVID-19) test. This leaflet has now been updated.

Webinar on mass testing in secondary schools and colleges

Together with NHS Test and Trace, we will be hosting a series of webinars for schools and colleges that will provide information on mass testing. Each webinar will last for 60 minutes and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.

The next webinar will give an overview of the mass testing process. It will repeat the messages from the webinar on Friday 18 December but will also provide some new information on cost recovery and workforce requirements. It will be taking place on 23 December at 2pm. Following the event, a copy of the questions asked will be made available, together with the responses.

Please use this link to join the webinar at 2pm on 23 December.

If you are unable to attend, the webinar will be recorded and made available for you to download after Christmas.

Additional webinars will begin from the week commencing 4 January. Whilst they will follow the same format, they will be thematic and will cover the following topics:

·        site set up

·        training

·        clinical checklist

·        recording test results
