From 4 September 2026, accredited ITT providers must add an employing school to all assessment only trainee records before changing a trainee’s status to QTS.
This applies to:
- existing trainees who are still in training and have not yet gained QTS
- new trainees starting in the 2026 to 2027 academic year
Providers must record the trainee’s most recent employing school, or the school where they will be observed during the assessment period.
