We have received clarification from DfE for the following:
- Final year UG ITE students in 2019/20 who go back into school next year will be covered by extension funding
- Extension funding is NOT available in respect of EYITT students
- Students who deferred from programmes in 2018/19, returned in 2019/20 and completed their programmes alongside the 2019/20 cohort and who have to go back into school in 2020/21 will be covered
Please click on the link below to access details of funding to be provided in respect of student teachers who cannot be recommended for QTS this year and will continue into next year. Funding has to be applied for. Key points include:
- Funding of £1,300 per month for student teachers for a maximum period of 5 months and a total of £6,500
- Funding of £750 per student teacher for providers for a maximum of 4 months and £3,000.
