Overview

In response to sector enquiries relating to effectively incorporating placements in specialist settings for ITT programmes, whilst remaining compliant with the ITT Criteria, NASBTT has been working closely with the DfE on an advisory panel to develop guidance which helps to clarify some of the key issues providers have been seeking to address. This session will explore the resulting publication, highlighting where guidance has been strengthened and drawing out a range of possible approaches to incorporating SEND placements.

We anticipate that the guidance and session will provide some much needed reassurance to providers about how specialist ITT programmes can be designed and delivered and will encourage more providers to work with specialist settings when designing ITT programmes. We will also share examples of approaches providers are currently taking.

This session will also provide opportunities for engagement, networking and discussion via breakout rooms.

Delegates attending this workshop will gain more clarity around incorporating placements in specialist settings into their programmes and through discussions with others will explore ideas for the practicalities of working with specialist settings to enhance their programme offer.

Designed to be a brief information exchange and networking session for Members, these events are the perfect opportunity for a fast-paced session focussing on a key, relevant topic and provide the opportunity for Members to engage with colleagues over a virtual coffee.
