Overview
Join Yamina Bibi, Education Project Specialist, for an insightful update on the national Increasing Diversity in ITT project, in partnership with Being Luminary, Chiltern Learning Trust and the Chartered College of Teaching and funded by Mission 44. This session will explore the important work taking place to address disparities faced by trainee teachers from Global Majority Heritage backgrounds and the steps being taken to create more equitable recruitment, training and progression pathways within ITT.
Delegates will hear about the project’s aims, achievements and emerging impact, including the coaching and training support offered to SCITTs and the development of funded Chartered Teacher pathways. Yamina will also outline practical opportunities for providers and individuals to get involved in the next phase of the project.
This is an essential session for anyone committed to fostering a more inclusive, representative and equitable teacher-training workforce.
NASBTT’s Insights session will be an interactive and engaging discussion, offering attendees the opportunity to gain first-hand insights and contribute to sector-wide conversations. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, share reflections and connect with peers ahead of the new academic year.
