Please note this recording will not include breakout discussions. \n\nOverview\nJoin Laura Douglas\, Educational Consultant and PhD Student\, to develop knowledge and understanding of how to support neurodivergent trainee teachers and mentors. \nThe session will share case studies from SCITT providers who have worked with Laura to reflect upon and develop neuroinclusive practice\, including SCITT recruitment processes\, creating inclusive training environments and how to work with schools to ensure trainees and mentors are well supported. Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) will also be a discussion topic with neurodivergent trainees\, ECTs and mentors sharing their experiences. \n\nFacilitator(s)\n\nLaura Douglas\, Educational Consultant and PhD Student\n\n \n \nLaura Douglas graduated from Lincoln Bishop University\, formally Bishop Grosseteste University\, in 2006\, where she studied BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS. In the twenty years since graduating\, Laura has worked in three primary school settings\, as ITT Strategic Leader for L.E.A.D. Teaching School Hub and as Lead Mentor for Lincolnshire ITT. \nLaura is an Independent Education Consultant supporting curriculum development and neuroinclusive practices in both school and ITT settings. Additionally\, Laura is a Freelance 1:1 Study Skills Tutor and Specialist Mentor working nationally with neurodivergent students in receipt of Disabled Student’s Allowance (DSA) in higher education. Laura facilitates on the ECPDP for L.E.A.D. Teaching School Hub and delivers Computing training for Lincolnshire ITT. \nLaura is passionate about developing neuroinclusive practice and has developed an audit tool to support ITT providers identify strong practice and areas to develop.
