As you may know, DfE is starting to build a new digital application service for prospective trainee teachers.  Like its sister service Find, Apply for postgraduate teacher training will be DfE-owned and run and will be an important part of the Teacher recruitment and retention strategy.

DfE has been meeting with providers of initial teacher training, to discuss plans for the development and implementation of the service, and to develop a thorough understanding of the systems and processes that providers currently use. The team is now setting up a forum for providers, which will be a way for the department to share information and updates, and to collaborate with providers on the development of the service. Forum members will be able to input into the plans for the service, providing feedback on key policy and design questions.

DfE colleagues are looking for a good range of representatives on the forum, with a diverse geographical spread and different characteristics.  The first meeting will take place in London on Thursday, 19th September 2019 from 2.00p.m. – 4.30p.m., but subsequent meetings will take place elsewhere around the country.  Meeting dates will be confirmed well in advance, to ensure that forum members are able to attend or send a deputy.  It is anticipated that the forums will meet around once a quarter.

If you are interested in being a member of the provider forum, please complete the Google Form which can be found here by Friday, 28th June 2019.  We will be able to advise you if you have a place on the forum in week beginning Monday, 1st July 2019.
