Tracking the progress of trainees as they learn to teach has always been a challenge. It needs to be consistent and fair without resorting to over-simplifications or tick-boxes. It needs to acknowledge the breadth and richness of learning that trainees will experience in the classroom on placement while still being connected to the course’s overall curriculum. It needs to be formative, but without losing sight of summative end-point assessments.
At Penrose Education, our mission is to help ITT course providers offer holistic, effective and powerful trainee development. We do this by providing a single, easy-to-use platform – called Mosaic – for trainees, mentors and course staff to record, track and personalise trainee development.
