On Tuesday, 8th June 2021, a renewal notification was sent to the Provider Manager and Lead Administrator contact in each of our Members.  The information below is shared here for your information.    

At the Board of Trustees’ Meeting on Monday, 10th May 2021, the Trustees decided to apply a 1% increase in the membership fees for the academic year 2021-2022.  This rise is in line with the 12-month inflation rate as of May 2021 according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).  Confirmation of the membership fees for 2021-2022 can be found in the Membership Terms and Conditions 2021-2022.

Membership fees for 2021-2022 are as follows:


£429.51 per institution

Plus £13.89 per postgraduate and undergraduate trainee registered on all programmes as per the ITT census*

* If your provider does not appear on the ITT census, we will contact your separately to collect your trainee numbers.

This small increase of £4.25 per institution for SCITTs, HEIs and Associate Members and 14 pence per trainee for SCITTs and HEIs to the membership fees for 2021-2022 will enable us to continue our work in supporting you, our Members.

The following are some of the ways in which we have supported our Members this year and will continue to support you next year.


Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and in light of changes to the Ofsted inspection framework and the initiation of the Market Review into Initial Teacher Training, NASBTT has had a real and immediate impact on policy developments that have had a direct impact on the sector and the work of providers in supporting their trainees.  We have continued to keep Members informed with increased communications and have sought your feedback to inform our own responses to the DfE.  As always, the NASBTT Team continues to be available for support, advice and guidance as required.


Our 2020-2021 events were planned for online delivery and we have enjoyed seeing so many of you join us online at one or more of our events across the academic year.  The calendar included the introduction of our highly attended free Espresso Shot Networking Events and our three-day Annual Conference which enabled us to offer an interesting programme of leading stakeholders in the sector.  Our 2021-2022 events calendar is planned to take place entirely online; we will re-introduce face-to-face offerings at the appropriate time in the future when we can all feel more confident in travelling and attending in person events.  Once again, our 2021-2022 events calendar promises to be an exciting offering for Members including:

We will also continue to offer our free Espresso Shot Networking Event series with six short sessions across the academic year; the first Espresso Shot will take place on Wednesday, 15th September 2021.  More information on all of our upcoming events can be found here.

NASBTT Networks Live

We introduced our Trainee Subject Networks in January 2021 and have been delighted by the response: 85 providers registered for access including over 7,000 trainees and Teacher Educators.  Our Trainee Subject Networks have been rebranded as NASBTT Networks Live for 2021-2022 and in addition to the sessions for primary and secondary subjects, we are delighted that Dylan Wiliam, Tom Bennett, Sinéad McBrearty, nasen and The Bell Foundation will be delivering sessions.

Membership 2021-2022

We do hope that you will continue your membership with us for the academic year 2021-2022 and we look forward to continuing to work with you next year.  For 2021-2022, we will invoice providers in September 2021 for the institution fee; this will be followed in December 2021 by an invoice for your trainee numbers following the publication of the ITT census.

However, if you do wish to cancel your membership as of the end of the academic year (31st August 2021), please notify me in writing by 21st August 2021 as advised in the Membership Terms and Conditions:

Following receipt of notifications of renewal, a member may cancel their membership in accordance with the termination clauses (see below).  Such cancellation requests must be notified in writing (office@nasbtt.org.uk) by 21st August in order to avoid cancellation charges being applied.
