Fixed term contract until August 2024 with possibility of permanent contract if reaccredited as an ITT provider for September 2024

Salary: 5 point range on the Leadership Scale (L4-8)

The Senior Leadership Team and Trustees of this highly successful and ambitious Multi Academy Trust are looking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious and experienced leader to build upon our SCITT’s ‘Good’ Ofsted grading and excellent local reputation.

Our overall aim is to provide outstanding teachers for schools/academies in our local area, who demonstrate excellent practice and professionalism.

The Role

As SCITT Leader and member of the Senior Leadership Team you will work alongside the Trust’s Executive Leadership Team and SCITT team to lead and further develop the quality of our ITT provision (SCITT and Assessment Only). Our specialist primary SCITT offering 3-7 and 5-11 training programmes has a very strong reputation and continues to grow in size.

Key SCITT responsibilities:

  • Lead the primary SCITT programme to strengthen our good Ofsted grading and strive for excellence
  • Develop a marketing and recruitment strategy to continue grow the size of our SCITT
  • Strategic development of the course content responding to the local and national needs and opportunities of ITT, including all policy changes
  • Further develop strong relationships with all of our partner schools and add to them
  • Co-ordinate and quality assure all aspects of the course through high quality training, monitoring, holding to account and intervention
  • Maximise the progress and professional development of all trainee teachers
  • Chair the Management Board, Strategic Board, Assessment Board and Operational Committee
  • Lead and develop a highly dedicated team
  • Undertaking rigorous self-evaluation and improvement planning
  • Strategically set and manage the SCITT budget
  • Be ambitious for the SCITT.
