The following guidance was shared with us by the Safer Recruitment Consortium in response to questions from the session. Please see below their written response as well as the attached document.
"LinkedIn is not a social media platform, it is a professional networking platform and is therefore not considered the same as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc in terms of Data Protection, right to privacy, ICO guidelines.
I have attached the online checks guidance we published for SRC accredited trainers in 2022. This was drafted in partnership with the DfE and cleared by the DfE legal team."
