Sam was the founding director of Sheffield Institute of Education and has recently become Emeritus professor. She has been heavily involved in recent teacher development reforms and chaired the CCF advisory group for the DfE. She has recently been working with DfE to develop guidance for ITT providers on the planning of Intensive Training and Practice (ITAP).
