New on-demand videos

The new Subject Development Videos will focus on the following areas:

  • An introduction to the Subject
  • Adaptive Teaching
  • Anticipating Common Misconceptions in the Subject Area
  • Memory and Metacognition
  • Ongoing Subject Knowledge Development and Self-Efficacy

Importantly, each subject will focus on these key areas of teacher practice through the lens of their subject allowing trainees to develop subject specific knowledge and supporting them to develop an understanding of the nuance of their subject.

Providers can decide how to utilise the videos to maximum effect within and across their training programmes.

Each video will be approximately 30 minutes in duration.

Accompanying presentations and resources, including recommended reading and reflective questions, will accompany each video.

Audience

Tailored for trainees and Early Career Teachers (those in the first two years of their teaching career).

The mentors of registered trainees will be provided with free access to the Trainee and Early Career Teacher Hub to support their trainees’ development.

Costs

Costs for 2023-2024 are on a per trainee basis.

NASBTT Members: £12.50 per trainee

Non-members: £25.00 per trainee

All registered providers will receive five free staff accounts.  Additional staff accounts are charged at the relevant per trainee cost.

The Mentors of registered trainees will be provided with free access to the Trainee and Early Career Teacher Hub to support their trainees’ development.

For the 2023-2024 academic year, access to these resources will run from 4th September 2023 to 19th July 2024.

How to register

To register for NASBTT’s Subject Development Resources,  please complete the Registration Form below.

We appreciate that you will not have confirmed trainee and Early Career Teacher numbers at this point. Therefore, when registering please provide indicative numbers of the trainee users you will require for September 2023.

Timescales and deadlines

We will require you to share registration information for your trainees and mentors in September.

Access for your trainees, mentors and other colleagues is subject to a five-working day set up period.

Access to the Trainee and Early Career Teacher Hub

The five free staff accounts will be granted with early access to the Trainee and Early Career Teacher Hub on 12th June 2023.**
