The Cam Academy Trust has an exciting opportunity to work in partnership with the Cambridge Teaching Schools Network (CTSN) SCITT and the Essex Primary SCITT (EPS) to lead in the development of their Primary and Early Years initial teacher training programmes.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, highly motivated, dynamic person to oversee current provision in both SCITTs and lead the development and implementation of a new Primary curriculum in the light of the new Quality Requirements.
The post will involve some travel across the region, with anticipated provision in Braintree, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and Chelmsford, but will be based from a suitable school location. Some
homeworking is also an option.
The EPS programme was rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2017 and the EYITT programme as ‘good’ in 2018: “Leaders’ strong reflective practice permeates all aspects of the partnership’s work. Leaders attract trainees who become highly skilled at carefully planning and adapting learning activities, so children can develop well and make the best progress” (Ofsted, 2018).
We are looking for candidates with successful experience working with trainee teachers; a proven track record as an inspirational leader, built on a foundation of exemplary teaching, ideally within the Primary or Early Years phases.
This is a flexible and rewarding post, enabling the right person to have the opportunity to develop a truly excellent Primary ITE curriculum, drawing on the best of two existing programmes, inspiring excellence in trainees and confident partnership with a large range of schools, clustered around 4 training centres, in Essex, South Cambridgeshire and West Suffolk.
Initially, the successful candidate will work in partnership with the Directors of both EPS and CTSN to oversee the current Primary provision across both providers, supported by programme managers in EPS, and Hub leaders, in CTSN. However, a key focus of the post will be the development of a new, ambitious Primary Curriculum, in line with the latest ITE Quality Requirements to teach across both EPS and CTSN, from September 2023.
