RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of ITT

HOURS: Full time (willingness to consider part-time working)

SALARY: L4-L8 (subject to region)

The starting salary will be determined on appointment subject to experience.

PLACE OF WORK: The post holder can be based in the Shared Services office, located in Pimlico Academy, or their closest Future Academies school. However, regular travel to all Future Academies schools will be required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

The Secondary ITT Lead will work collaboratively as a member of the ITT leadership team to:

  • Oversee the planning and delivery of our core ITT curriculum.
  • Oversee the work of secondary subject leads for ITT in monitoring the implementation of the subject curricula.
  • Develop in-school mentors and professional mentors through co-coaching, feedback and delivery of training.
  • Monitor the quality of our trainee teachers through regular observations and feedback, including remote monitoring through IRIS connect.
  • Work with our ITT co-ordinator and central ITT team to recruit high-quality trainee teachers.
  • Commit to continual improvement through the undertaking of additional projects and research that contribute to the wider success of the team.
  • Work with our PGCE provider to support trainees with the successful completion of their PGCE.
  • Deliver regular communication to a variety of stakeholders (professional mentors, mentors, subject leads, ITT team) in relation to ITT curriculum priorities and key updates as appropriate.
  • Stay up to date with educational debates to build a culture of continual improvement within the ITT provision.
  • Undertake any tasks reasonably requested by the Head of ITT.

Interview Process

The interview process will take place as soon as possible after shortlisting has been completed. The interview will include a formal interview and may include practical tasks related to the knowledge and skills required for the role.

Unsuccessful candidates will be given the opportunity to receive professional feedback.

The successful candidate will take up the post in September 2023 or sooner.
