The Organisation

Manchester Nexus SCITT exists for children and young people: improving their life chances, instilling the joy of learning, and nurturing their development and achievement. Our mission is to train teachers who will inspire, challenge and support all their pupils, both now and in the future.

Manchester Nexus SCITT has developed through the Northern Teaching School Alliance with the Outstanding Blue Coat School as the Lead School. The person appointed will be a qualified teacher and teach 6-8 periods per week but be otherwise supporting the work of the SCITT. This role offers the opportunity to develop leadership and management skills, and will entail communicating with applicants, the SCITT Board; the wider school re the continuation of teacher training and development. There is some financial management involved, project planning, future-thinking, and, of course, inspection. It is an excellent opportunity to be at the forefront of the roll-out of school-based ITE in a nationally accredited organisation, and at the heart of teacher development.

The job description and person specification and application form is located in the link below and on our website, and the right person for this job will be someone who has been involved in ITE and understands the challenges and requirements.
