About the Role
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional individual as one of two Regional Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Leads, supporting the leadership of our Primary and Early Years Teacher Training. This is a National, Remote working position, with some travel required and you will be predominantly covering the East and South of England.
With a national reach and over 60 primary schools, The REAch Teach Primary Partnership currently offers both School Direct PGCE and Teaching Apprenticeship programmes through a local cluster model. Exciting times are ahead, following our successful accreditation against the 2024 ITT Quality Requirements, and we are looking for an experienced ITT professional who will have an immediate impact in driving the development of our SCITT.
This is an exciting new role for someone who is passionate about developing trainee teachers and supporting the MAT and SCITT partnership of schools to meet local recruitment needs.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in supporting the development of novice teachers through an exceptional knowledge of mentoring and training.
- A thirst for knowledge and high levels of engagement with relevant research in education.
- Knowledge and understanding of the ITT Criteria and new Quality Requirements that will be in place from September 2024.
- A natural ability to collaborate, and build strong, productive professional partnerships.
- A passion and commitment to equality so that our ITT provision supports our Social Justice strategy.
The post holder will work closely with the National ITT Lead and be part of a large and growing ITT team across the Partnership of schools.
Successful delivery of ITT and development of the SCITT is one of our highest priorities across the Trust. This role supports the REAch2 Touchstones through a focus on the quality of learning for trainee teachers, the development of leadership skills across the organisation and opportunities for progression through our teacher educator career pathway.
As a key member of the ITT team, you will be directly responsible for:
- Supporting the National ITT Lead and our Education team with programme development and curriculum design, utilising your primary/Early Years curriculum and subject expertise.
- Partnership engagement and collaboration with delegated partner schools across your region.
- Delivery of the training programme, across appropriate areas of your expertise.
- Creation of Mentor and Lead Mentor guidance rubrics, and delivery of mentor training.
- QA and monitoring of provision across delegated partner schools
- Acting as Link Tutor for delegated partner schools where required
- Effectively running the trainee selection process to ensure viable cohorts
- Developing robust assessment processes and systems
This is a permanent role reporting to the National ITT Lead.
