NASBTT is pleased to announce complimentary access for Members to the English and maths diagnostic assessment, provided in partnership with CENTURY.
The Department for Education (DfE) requires a provider-led assessment of an applicant's fundamental English and maths skills.
Building on NASBTT’s existing partnership with CENTURY, this bespoke package gives Member organisations and their applicants/trainees direct access to the English and maths diagnostic assessment funded by NASBTT to identify if applicants/trainees have the required levels of English and maths skills.
CENTURY's diagnostic assessment analyses each applicant's/trainee’s areas of development and provides the option of a bespoke programme of teaching modules (nuggets) that will address their specific needs where upskilling is required.

Access is free of charge for NASBTT Members for the 2026-2027 academic year.
An additional cost applies to access the teaching nuggets.
FUNDAMENTAL ENGLISH AND MATHS DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT
How ITT organisations can use CENTURY
- Once registered, Members can access CENTURY’s fundamental skills in English and maths diagnostic assessment to identify if applicants/trainees have the required levels of English and maths.
- Registered Members have access to their own dashboard to manage and track applicants'/trainees' diagnostics outcomes.
Upgrading Nuggets
- Where applicants/trainees don't achieve the required skill level in the diagnostic assessment, they can upskill in relevant areas using CENTURY’s upgrading nuggets.
- CENTURY’s videos and slideshows, followed by assessment questions, allow applicants/trainees to gain a secure understanding of a topic before teaching it.

Please note payment and liaison for upgrading nuggets is managed directly with CENTURY.

CURRICULUM COVERAGE
CENTURY’s English, maths and science content has been developed by experienced teachers and is mapped to the National Curriculum in England for Key Stages 1-4. Also available are Key Stage 4 courses for geography and theory PE.
