NASBTT has developed this specialist version of the NPQLTD to explicitly meet the needs of colleagues working exclusively or mainly in the ITT sector. It would suit ITT partnership leads and senior staff, as well as colleagues undertaking the ‘Lead Mentor’ role as envisioned in the DfE’s ITT quality requirements for 2024.
As we will routinely contextualise the learning to the ITT sector, colleagues in schools who have a wider remit than ITT alone may wish to consider an alternative provider for this qualification.
The core content of the NPQLTD will be the same as for any other delegate on any of the Teacher Development Trust's (TDT) NPQLTD; therefore, delegates won’t miss out on any of the rich learning that has been developed by TDT and will attain exactly the same qualification at the end of the programme. NASBTT, working in close collaboration with the curriculum team at TDT, has contextualised the online learning so that it can be applied to the ITT sector in meaningful ways for ITT colleagues.
Our seminars and workshops will bring together cohorts of like-minded ITT professionals enabling rich discussion to take place around how the learning applies to different phases, subjects and aspects found within the sector, offering delegates the opportunity to share and build on the excellent practice that exists within the system.
The programme lasts for 12 months and involves 55.5 to 65.5 hours of study, including three 4-hour face-to-face workshops, six online seminars and 30 to 40 hours online study (depending on participant's prior experience).
Dates and times for face-to-face workshops and online seminars are to be confirmed. They will be held during the working day.
We have a maximum of 22 places across our London and Liverpool cohorts for Autumn 2024.
At the end of the programme, you will complete a 1,500-word case study assessment to demonstrate your understanding of the learning.
Complete the application form and TDT will be in touch with the next steps for the application process.
The course fee is £899.00 (TBC).
To be eligible for scholarship funding for this qualification, the applicant must hold the role of ITT Lead Mentor and work with an accredited ITT provider.
