Fiona joined Bluecoat SCITT Alliance in September 2021 as Primary Lead. Fiona has overseen development and implementation of the primary curriculum ensuring that it meets the needs of both trainees and partnership schools alongside the continual development and delivery of the wider SCITT curriculum.

As a member of the core SCITT team, Fiona is responsible for collaborating on the development and delivery of training and support for both lead and general mentors. Her role involves working closely with colleagues to ensure that both general and lead mentors are equipped with the necessary skills and resources to effectively support trainees throughout their professional journey. By fostering a collaborative environment, Fiona contributes to the continuous improvement of mentoring practices within the programme alongside other members of the core SCITT team.

Prior to joining Bluecoat SCITT Alliance, Fiona spent 14 years teaching across Key stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in Primary schools within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. A large proportion of that time was spent as a leader in an inner-city school where her enthusiasm and skill-set for supporting and developing teachers, at all stages of their careers, initially started.
