James Coleman
Head of Operations and Training, NASBTT
James believes being a teacher is one of the most important and rewarding careers you can embark on. Having trained to teach at the Institute of Education, James spent the majority of his teaching career in London, leading the development of the foundation subject curriculum and assessment. He also worked with numerous SCITT providers across London, before moving to Hampshire and being appointed SCITT Director for a primary provider. Here he spent 3 years delivering the most effective and engaging training as possible, with a focus on delivering teachers who are resilient, confident and prepared for a long and successful career within education.
James' favourite thing about working in education is that he is able to work in an environment where there is always something new to learn and he is never happier than when collaborating with colleagues. James is passionate about trying to raise professionalism within the teaching profession and ensuring that teachers are held with the respect they deserve within society.
A real 'foodie' and a lover of sport, James can often be found walking in the New Forest, or attempting to cook up a storm in the kitchen.
