There are some great competitions running over the coming months for your classes to take part in:
GCHQ’s National Language Competition
GCHQ is running the 2025 GCHQ National Language Competition from Monday 17th November – Friday 21st November 2025.
The National Language Competition (NLC) is a virtual competition where teams from schools around the UK compete against each other to solve language-based puzzles and score points. The overall winners are then invited to GCHQ’s headquarters in Cheltenham to receive their trophy!
With the NLC, GCHQ aims to inspire language learning by encouraging students to discover their aptitude for learning languages.
If you aren’t currently on their mailing list, please email nlc@gchq.gov.uk using your official school email address to register your interest. Schools who have participated in past iterations and those new to the competition this year will be contacted in due course regarding key dates including when registration opens. More information can be found below on the GCHQ website.
