The NASBTT Awards 2026 are now opens for entries

All entries must be submitted online by 5.00pm on Friday, 25th September 2026.

Our judging process is independent, robust and peer-led, with all judges volunteering their time to support the Awards. The panel is comprised of experienced professionals from across the ITT sector and wider education community, including current practitioners and individuals with recognised expertise in teacher training and development.

We are sincerely grateful to our judges for their commitment and professionalism in ensuring a fair, thorough and credible process. Their contribution plays a vital role in recognising and celebrating the outstanding work taking place across the sector, something that is particularly important in the current landscape.

What the judges will be looking for

Entries for the NASBTT Awards 2026 should clearly demonstrate impact, quality and contribution to the ITT sector. Judges will be looking for submissions that:

  • Show clear impact and outcomes – with specific, evidenced examples of how the work has positively influenced trainees, mentors, provision or the wider sector;
  • Demonstrate excellence in practice – highlighting high-quality approaches that reflect strong, schools-led teacher training and professional development;
  • Provide clarity and context – explaining not just what was achieved, but how and why, including the challenges addressed and the differences made;
  • Reflect wider sector contribution – showing how the work aligns with and supports the development of high-quality ITT provision and benefits the broader education community.

Each award criteria clearly outlines what judges will be looking for and interested in.

What makes a strong entry

A high-quality entry will be well-structured, evidence-informed and clearly articulated, providing judges with a compelling and credible account of practice within the ITT sector.
