The ITT criteria has been updated to include the below correction to C2.1 Programme structure, as well as updates to the PGTA requirements following the announced changes to the English and maths exit requirements for all apprenticeships.
Following changes to English and maths apprenticeship exit requirements for all apprenticeships we have updated the ITT criteria to reflect this for the Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship (PGTA) specific requirements. This policy change is effective from 11 February 2025 and applies to all new starts and existing learners currently on programme. We will continue to fund English and maths qualifications for learners of all ages as part of the apprenticeship, including where the adult apprentice or employing school has decided that standalone English and maths qualifications are necessary as part of the apprenticeship.
We have also taken this opportunity to make a correction to C2.1 Programme structures where we refer to ITT curricula adequately covering ‘all national curriculum subjects’ to include other compulsory subjects: Religious education and health and relationships education for primary trainees.
