Please find below an update from DfE regarding the currant SKE recruitment position following confirmation from providers.
DfE are still waiting to hear back from all SKE providers relating to their latest recruitment status. At present, there are only two providers still recruiting to SKE courses: The Spanish Course and the University of Chichester. These are relatively small providers with limited capacity, and availability across subjects is now extremely constrained.
All other providers have confirmed that they are closed to recruitment for the remainder of the academic year.
Given the very limited remaining provision, it is increasingly likely that applicants who require SKE will be unable to secure a funded place. As noted previously, in these cases we would encourage ITT providers to continue considering alternative approaches where appropriate, including supporting applicants within ITT or discussing self-funded options.
