Subject Resources

As a current Art and Design teacher of 27 years, a Curriculum Leader for 23, a Senior Leader for 8 and the Programme Lead of the Northumbria Art, Craft and Design Partnership, I have gathered together a series of resources that I have found useful in my journey from trainee to teacher to leader in a Secondary school environment.

Teaching Art is the best job in the world, and training others to be successful Art teachers is a real privilege and an unique opportunity to develop the next generation of educators, able to inspire, innovate, encourage, engage, ignite, support and promote the young creators of the future.

This website is intended to signpost you to relevant subject specific information, reports, useful reading, inspiring videos and associations. It also includes links to websites on Contemporary and Historical Art, useful techniques and key skills that trainee art teachers will find invaluable as they negotiate the vast, multidisciplinary landscape of Art, Craft and Design practice.
