Dear Colleague,

You may have already seen that the Education and Skills Funding Agency is opening the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers for applications from accredited Initial Teacher Training Providers.

The register will reopen for applications on 28 February and will close on 9 March 2018 at 17:00 hours. The ESFA will communicate results during April 2018. If you intend to deliver the postgraduate teaching apprenticeship in September 2018, you are strongly encouraged to apply at this opening.

As the first step in applying to the register, accredited ITT providers interested in applying to the register must email Teaching.Apprenticeship@education.gov.uk by 21 February so that the ESFA can invite you to complete your application from 28 February.

When emailing us, please also include your UK Provider Reference Number (UKPRN) and the legal name this is linked to on the UK Register of Learning Providers. It is important that the legal entity that is the accredited ITT provider (named on a provider’s Accreditation Certificate) makes the application to the register. This opening of the register is only for accredited ITT providers. If you need further assistance on clarifying who that is please contact ITT.Accreditation@education.gov.uk before 21 February. We hope that doing this ahead of the register opening, will make the application process smoother for providers.

For those providers who have previously applied to the register, using the same account will mean that your answers from your previous application will be pre-populated. Please check your answers to ensure there are no changes in circumstances since you last applied. If you passed any of the text based questions that required a statement (questions CA-01c, QA-09, QA-10, QA-11) you do not need to create a new statement unless you have changed your approach. Leave the answer as it is and address the statements that did not meet the ESFAs requirements

Ahead of the register re-opening, we have worked with the ESFA to arrange two webinars to give an overview of the process. The first webinar will take place on Thursday 22nd February from 15:00-16:30 and the second webinar will take place on Monday 26th February from 15:00 – 16:30. You will be able to ask questions throughout. To join the webinar sessions, please email your preferred date, the organisation name, contact name and email address (just one email address please) to the Teaching.Apprenticeship@education.gov.uk mailbox. Further details on how to join the sessions will be emailed out to you before the webinar event.

Please let us know if you have any questions, by emailing us at this mailbox.

Best wishes
