The Department for Education is looking into flexibility in ITT, exploring the demand for more flexible training options, the barriers providers may face in delivering them, and how DfE could support providers further in offering flexible training options. We’re looking broadly at flexibility in when people train (part-time courses, mid-year start dates, etc.), where people train (remote and blended learning), and how people train (accommodations needed for people with disabilities, health conditions, a range of backgrounds, neurotypes, and diverse learning styles).
As part of this, we’re planning research with ITT providers, to understand their perspective on flexibility in ITT, seeking to learn what measures are desirable and impactful, what obstacles to anticipate, and what support would be beneficial to those offering increased flexibility. We will be holding research sessions between 21st-24th February and 28th February – 2nd March.
