Q: What should I do if I have a candidate who I have identified needs SKE? Can I still make them a conditional offer?
We would encourage you to think carefully about whether a candidate requires an offer conditional on SKE. If you do make an offer conditional on the completion of a SKE course we cannot guarantee this will be funded by DfE. It will be the candidate’s responsibility to gain subject knowledge if the SKE package we publish in November/December will not fund this.
Q: Are there any alternatives to doing SKE whilst it’s not available?
There may be alternatives, but you should always speak to your chosen training provider to determine whether they would accept this prior to taking any action.
