PSHE Assocation

Get priority access to our new ITT PSHE curriculum plan and the opportunity to attend our exclusive launch event, bringing together both ITT providers and their trainees.

The curriculum plan

Excellence and compliance

Our new curriculum plan provides a comprehensive curriculum framework to help you plan your own high-quality, sequential, taught PSHE education sessions and meet all the relevant expectations set out in the ITT Core Content Framework (CCF).

No ‘one size fits all’…

The duration of teacher training programmes, session delivery methods and subject hours vary for each provider and trainee. So, we’ve structured our curriculum plan with this in mind. There are three levels: Essential, Enhanced and Comprehensive, to meet the needs of all.

Tools for the job

Resources to support your PSHE sessions are signposted for each of the three levels — to help you to develop your own subject expertise, enhance taught sessions and signpost resources that trainees might use in the classroom. We’ve also included a reading list at the end of the document, outlining suggested core references and recommended further reading.

How/where do I access the curriculum plan?

Our ITT curriculum plan is available as part of a package, which also includes access to our online launch event (see below). Book your place here and we’ll send you your copy of the framework following the event (Tuesday 23 May, 4-5.30pm).

Our exclusive online launch event will bring together both ITT providers and their trainees, across all key stages. This launch event includes:

  • For ITT providers
  • A guided tour through the brand new, cross-phase ITT PSHE curriculum plan and ways to implement it in your setting
  • Early access to the ITT curriculum plan and recordings of all sessions
  • For trainees
  • FREE access to a cross-phase workshop exploring effective drug and alcohol education, including current research into vaping
  • A one-time offer of a 6-month PSHE Association membership free trial for all trainees who attend

Both the ITT and Trainee component of the event will include networking opportunities and a chance to share experiences and best practice.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Best wishes,

The PSHE Association team
