Science and Plants for Schools (SAPS) would like to invite you to our FREE online Train the Trainer CPD event scheduled over two mornings on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th March 2021. The event is open to all secondary science Initial Teacher Education (ITE) tutors and all those involved in the training of Biology teacher trainees through SCITTs, PGCE Centres and Alliances. Your institution’s lead/ biology technician is also welcome. Zoom (the video-conferencing tool) will be used throughout the training. If you have attended our Train the Trainer prior to 2015, this event will act as a refresher for you.
The sessions will be full of inspiring activities, providing you with an opportunity to look at the secondary and post-16 resources we’ve developed. This includes support for GCSE plant disease topics and A-level core practicals. In previous years this event would have taken place face-to-face allowing you to have a go at the practicals that have been demonstrated. However, we are aware that you may not have access to a laboratory or a prep-room to be able to carry out the practicals. With that in mind we are taking into account a range of circumstances in our planning, meaning that everyone will be able to take part in the interactive sessions whether or not they have access to a safe environment for practical work. Before the event you will receive some items that you can use with our resources either during the training event or after. We would also like to provide you with some goodies as we would have had we met in person. This is why we ask for your dietary requirements in the short survey.
