STEM

Ever thought about teaching computing?  Now is a great time to add another string to your bow and qualify to teach GCSE computer science.

Teach Computing is offering additional support to all teachers who are interested in studying the Computer Science Accelerator – the flexible professional development programme designed to give you the subject knowledge and confidence to teach GCSE computer science.  Regardless of your specialism, thanks to the introduction of CS Champion led support sessions, there is now extra support available to help you to qualify.

You will join a cohort of participants at a similar stage of the journey to you who will be helped and mentored by our Computer Science Champions.  They will guide you on which course modules to take, which pathways are most suitable for you to ensure you achieve your learning outcomes.  They will guide and support you throughout the programme with in depth subject knowledge and pedagogy to prepare you to sit the test.

At your first session you can discover more about the Computer Science Accelerator programme, how to enrol, consider which pathways are most suitable for you as well as meeting other participants and developing a network of support.

If you would like to find out more, you can book onto a session with a Computer Science Champion by emailing cschampionsupport@stem.org.uk  The Computer Science Accelerator is available to all teachers, and we hope the new CS Champion led support sessions will be particularly helpful to those new to the subject and to those new to teaching.
