NASBTT is pleased to have partnered with CENTURY to support ITT organisations and primary and secondary trainee teachers with curriculum subject knowledge and fundamental skills in English and maths.
How ITT organisations can use CENTURY
- Assess fundamental skills in English and maths: CENTURY’s initial diagnostics ensure trainees have the required levels of English and maths. Accompanying resources will enable trainees to address their specific needs.
- Develop subject knowledge: Trainees can upskill in key concepts using CENTURY’s resources for support. CENTURY’s videos and slideshows, followed by assessment questions, allow trainees to gain a secure understanding of a topic before teaching it. Resources available include English, maths and science content for primary and secondary, alongside Key Stage 4 courses for geography and PE.
- Time saving: Trainees can save valuable hours sourcing resources by using CENTURY’s high-quality videos and slides in their lesson planning. The assessment questions can support trainees in their sequencing of a lesson.
Curriculum coverage
CENTURY’s English, maths and science content is developed by experienced teachers and is mapped to the English National Curriculum for Key Stages 1-4. Also available are Key Stage 4 courses for geography and theory PE.
Trainee support
The Department for Education (DfE) requires a provider-led assessment of fundamental English and maths skills in order to award Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
CENTURY analyses each trainee’s areas of development and provides them with a bespoke programme of teaching modules (nuggets) that will address their specific needs.
