The latest UCAS Teacher Training bulletin was published on 13th December 2018:

Action required

Reject by default (RBD) decisions

The first rolling 40-day RBD ran on 3 December for applicants applying for 2019 entry.

Reject by default decisions are recorded for applicants when training providers fail to make decisions during the specified period of 40 working days. Making timely decisions on applications will prevent this from happening.

If an application has an RBD decision in error, you can amend this through web-link within seven days.
We exclude 17 December to 2 January (inclusive) for the festive period. These days will not count towards the 40-day decision deadline.

Important updates

Summer reject by default (RBD) pilot results

We are collating feedback from training providers and applicants on changes made to the RBD process this year. The results from the pilot and recommendations will be shared with our UCAS Teacher Training Advisory Group in the New Year. A decision as to whether we continue with the process will be sent out shortly after.

UCAS Teacher Training provider survey results

Thank you to everyone who completed our 2018 UCAS Teacher Training provider survey.

We were pleased to hear that 95% of participants valued their relationship with UCAS, and 88% felt we were easy to do business with. Despite this, we recognise there is always room for improvement, as we look to further increase these scores with a focus on improving our systems and communications over the next year.

As mentioned during the UCAS Teacher Training Update, we have made some changes to the relationship managers – see a full list of relationship managers.

There will be guest speakers from established ITT networks, who will talk about their successful recruitment strategies, and offer first-hand tips on delivering low cost activity with high impact. You will also have the chance to network with other training providers in your region.
