Preparing for the 2021 cycle– register to find out more

UCAS and the DfE will be hosting a joint webinar on Tuesday 29 September to introduce the forthcoming 2020/21 admissions cycle and outline how the DfE’s new system Apply, and UCAS Teacher Training systems will dual-run from October 2020.

As many of you know, the DfE’s Apply for Teacher Training is now live and being used by providers to recruit candidates to over 1,500 courses. This October, the university pilot will begin, where a number of providers will begin to use the service. Until October 2021, both UCAS UTT and DfE’s Apply will run as routes into teaching. UCAS and DfE have been working in close collaboration to ensure as smooth a transition onto the new service as possible.

The session is open to anyone working in admissions for Teacher Training and will cover:

  • Overview of UCAS teacher Training
  • Overview and demonstration of DfE’s Find, Apply & Allocations
  • How dual-running will work
  • Questions and answers

Book your place to join us on Tuesday 29 September between 10.30-12.00.

2020 cycle application statistics for August

Tomorrow we’ll be publishing application statistics for the 2020 UCAS Teacher Training cycle.

The reference point for these statistics is Monday 17 August. The figures will be available on the UCAS Teacher Training statistical releases page of ucas.com.

You can now view them under embargo until they are published at 00:01 tomorrow.

Please note, the statistics in these reports reflect the total number of applicants who have applied through UCAS Teacher Training, and don’t include those who have applied through the DfE’s service. The DfE application figures will be relatively small for the short term, and are unlikely to have an impact on overall trends.

If you have any questions, please email communications@ucas.ac.uk

Date for your diary – UCAS Teacher Training regional forums

In October we will be running two UCAS Teacher Training regional forums to give you a forum to engage with us and each other. They are:

  • an opportunity to talk through the opening of the cycle
  • a chance to share best practice
  • your forum for feeding back – and for asking any questions following the UCAS/DfE Dual running workshop

We’re holding two sessions to make sure you have the opportunity to engage with us, but you only need to attend one session. Click on the below links to register your place:
