Visiting Primary Tutor – Greater Manchester

e-Qualitas is a well-established and thriving Initial Teacher Training provider. This year we have seen significant growth by developing partnerships with schools outside our traditional area of the South and South East. This means that we are now looking to recruit and attract experienced primary tutors in the Greater Manchester area.

We offer a range of training routes including the Teaching Apprenticeship Programme, School Direct (salaried and tuition fee), and Assessment Only. We work closely in partnership with our lead schools, across phases and a spectrum of secondary subjects to offer school based initial teacher training leading to the award of QTS, and with our partner the University of Buckingham for the award of PGCE. We provide a high level of individualised support to our trainees, ensuring that they make rapid and sustained progress and are well prepared for teaching

We are looking to appoint dynamic, experienced and dedicated professionals to work as self-employed members of our visiting tutor team either on part-time or full-time basis. The role is suitable for a serving senior leader wishing to develop their own skills and involvement in training teachers or for candidates who work on a self-employed consultancy basis.

The role

You will directly support a number of trainees, working with their school based mentors to ensure the trainees are developing their practice and are implementing the learning from the taught curriculum in a way that is deliberate and highly relevant to their needs. You will also support the development of the in school mentors and lead trainers. You will have six whole day visits across the duration of the training programme for each trainee. In the current climate, the expectation is to work flexibly and to include virtual meetings and support, either to supplement or in place of visits, as appropriate to the circumstances.

The role would include:

  • Tracking and supporting trainee teachers’ progress
  • Supporting professional and school based tutors in carrying out their role
  • Communicating with and visiting partnership schools
  • Using our e-learning platform e-track

What we offer:

  • Opportunity to work with a well-established ITT provider
  • Support through training for the role, continuing professional development and a ‘buddy’ initially
  • Opportunities to work with a growing partnership network

Prior experience of supporting Initial Teacher Training is essential
