A warm welcome back to the start of the new school year!

I really hope that you all managed some R&R over the summer break and are refreshed and relaxed ready for the start of the new year.

The summer has been a busy one for the team at NASBTT with a number of meetings with the DfE having taken place as well as lots of exciting planning for the upcoming year. We have a packed programme of events lined up for you, including further developments in our suite of Teacher Educator Programmes…watch this space for dates and news on that front.

We are thrilled to welcome a new member to our little team as of today. Katy Potter joins us as our Marketing, Communications and Events Manager and we are so pleased to have her on board.  Katy comes with extensive experience of the SCITT and School Direct sectors as well as bringing additional skills around social media and marketing. Expect some updates to our website over the coming months and an increased presence on social media.  If you don’t already, please take a moment to follow us on Twitter @nasbtt and @EHollisNASBTT.

As you can imagine, we’ve had a number of queries over the summer from members – particularly concerning skills tests.  We have flagged the difficulties with booking tests to the relevant team at the DfE and sincerely hope that all of your candidates have managed to get these in place in time.  If you are experiencing any difficulties, please do let us know as specific examples help us to make our case.

I’m looking forward to meeting and speaking with you all over the next few weeks and months and wish you and your trainees every success for the year.

Emma
