Dear Members,

The importance of high quality mentoring has long been recognised within the ITT sector and we know that lots of great work goes on in partnerships to achieve this aim. Increasingly, the importance of mentoring is being recognised more widely and steps are being made to exemplify this through the ECF, the CCF, the proposed Ofsted Inspection Framework for ITE and through our own work with the NASBTT Teacher Educator Programmes.

We also know that you face a number of challenges in ensuring the consistency of mentoring across your partnerships and that there is increasing anxiety in the sector over the supply of high quality, well-trained, committed mentors in schools given the increasing demands that will be made on them and the growing need to support teachers throughout their early careers.

With all this in mind, we are keen to hear from the membership to understand the barriers you face. This will inform the work we do and the messages we take to government as we continue to affect change in the system.

We would welcome your feedback and would appreciate you taking the time to complete this short survey. We do not anticipate this will take longer than 5 minutes to complete.
