The Early Career Framework (ECF) underpins a step change in support for early career teachers, providing a funded entitlement to a structured 2-year package of high-quality professional development.

Due to the disruptions to Initial Teacher Training this year, the Department for Education has now published the ECF core induction programmes a year ahead of schedule. These training materials can be used by all schools, and early career teachers, in a variety of ways to help support the learning and development of new teachers over the coming academic year.

The four core induction programmes have been developed by expert teacher training providers and are based on the ECF. Each set of materials cover the five core areas of the ECF (Behaviour Management, Pedagogy, Curriculum, Assessment and Professional behaviours). They are:

  • Ambition Institute
  • Education Development Trust
  • Teach First
  • UCL Early Career Teacher Consortium
