Dear NASBTT Members,

Recently, Minister Gibb announced the launch of the Apply for Teacher Training pilot. He confirmed that the service is now live for select SCITTs and schools, and will be rolled out to more over the coming months, before being piloted with ‘early adopter’ HEIs from October 2020. Apply for Teacher Training will be the only route for postgraduate teacher training applicants from October 2021.

More than 75 providers and nearly 1000 courses are already using Apply for Teacher Training and we are adding more all the time. If you’re interested in shaping how service, now is the best time to get involved. You will gain early insight into our service and help us shape it for you and your candidates.

We are working alongside these providers and supporting them to start using the new service. If you are interested in getting involved, you can find out more and sign up here. We will add your courses to our new digital service, within a week of you confirming. Candidates will then be able to apply to you through Apply for Teacher Training, as well as through the UCAS service.

We will be supporting you throughout, so now is the best time to get onboard. If you are happy for us to onboard you, please sign up here https://www.apply-for-teacher-training.education.gov.uk/provider. If you have any questions, please email becomingateacher@digital.education.gov.uk .
