Chartered College Logo

The Chartered College of Teaching is committed to supporting early career teachers to make the strongest start to their teaching journey. This is more important than ever considering the huge challenges for the profession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We must ensure that the next generation of teachers have access to the resources they need and are fully equipped to provide excellent teaching

The Chartered College has launched the Early Career Hub; an indispensable resource packed with articles, interactive content and high-quality classroom footage created by teachers and academics, aligned to the Early Career Framework and Teachers’ Standards and tailored to the needs of early career teachers.

The Early Career Hub is available free to all student teachers and NQT members of the Chartered College and builds on our extensive early career support, including Accelerate, early-career events and our upcoming Early Career Framework Handbook.

Additional Information for training providers

As an ITT provider, we invite you to use the wide variety of resources available on our Hub to support your provision for trainees. Resources include high-quality video content which will be of benefit to trainees who may not have access to classroom and teaching footage due to the current situation.

We know that many of you are already Chartered College members, which will provide you with full access to the Early Career Hub. If you are not yet a member but would like to preview the content, we are able to provide one online membership for each ITT provider organisation. You can find out more at or please get in touch to discuss purchasing memberships across your team via or contact my colleague, Joe Treacy. You can book a time in his diary here.

We would also like to encourage all of your current and future student teachers to become members to access the Hub resources and tools for themselves – membership is free for those in full-time training. Students can join through the Chartered College website here, and we will provide more promotional material in the coming weeks should this be useful for you and your trainees.

We would like to thank the Sheffield Institute of Education at Sheffield Hallam, UCET, NASBTT, TSC and the CFSA for their support with the project. We are also grateful to the wide range of ITT providers and Subject Associations who have provided content for the launch of the Hub. New resources will be added regularly, and if you would like to contribute links, ideas, or provide feedback, please get in touch at
