We have received some queries from members regarding the additional questions in the Ofsted return which focus on the training hours that primary trainees receive for SSP and early reading. We have been in touch with Angela Milner who has replied with the following advice for providers:
‘Estimate an overall total number of hours for all types of training associated with reading and SSP and then use the boxes (which list typical activities found in ITE training) below to indicate the breadth of training experiences typically provided. We understand that different trainees will receive different amounts of training dependent upon their individual needs and available opportunities and there is no need to quantify this.’
